Canada Child Benefit

The Canada Child Benefit is here!

  • The Canada Child Benefit (CCB) provides support for low-to-middle-income families with children. It is tax-free and based on income, providing more support to those most need help.

  • The CCB has helped lift hundreds of thousands of children across Canada out of poverty.

  • The CCB has been annually indexed since 2018 to keep up with the rising cost of living.

  • Beginning July 2024, the maximum annual benefit is $7,787 per child under 6 years of age and $6,570 per child aged 6 through 17. Families with less than $36,502 in adjusted family net income receive the maximum benefit.

  • This represents a 6.3% increase since the previous benefit year.

  • It is tax-free and based on income, providing more support to those who need it most.

  • As Canadians feel the impact of the rising cost of living, we’re working hard to make life more affordable, and ensure that all children have the tools and resources they need to succeed.
