Budget 2024 | The Canadian Dental Care Plan

Dental care is an important component of our health, but seeing a dentist can be expensive. To make dental care more affordable for more Canadians, the federal government has committed to providing dental care for uninsured Canadians with family income of less than $90,000 annually, starting with children under 12-years-old.

Since access to services began on May 1st, more than 200,000 seniors have received care with the CDCP, and more than 11,500 dental care professionals have now signed up to provide care under the CDCP in just 2 months. That means, along with helping seniors replace old dentures, getting their teeth cleaned, and preventing serious infections, it is making a real difference in the lives of Canadians.

The individual's coverage will begin on the start date provided in the welcome package from Sun Life. Appointments with an oral health provider can only be scheduled on or after that date for the eligible oral health care services to be covered under the plan. If you are concerned about the legitimacy of any CDCP communication, you can call 1-833-537-4342. To search for a list of participating CDCP providers, please visit Provider Search – Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) | Sun Life.
